Raku workshop

Raku is a traditional Japanese pottery technique that dates back to the 16th century, originally developed for tea ceremonies. Pieces are rapidly fired and removed from the kiln while red-hot, then cooled in combustible materials like sawdust or straw. This intense thermal shock creates unique crackles, textures, and metallic finishes — no two pieces are ever alike. It’s a process that embraces unpredictability, spontaneity, and beauty in imperfection.
